During a recent trial with Kent Police in Dover, officers evaluated the Search Pole as part of ongoing efforts to tackle knife crime. The system successfully detected concealed knives during controlled testing, while also acting as a visible deterrent during street deployments. Officers highlighted its ability to support effective searches while maintaining positive engagement with the public.
Similarly, West Yorkshire Police deployed the Search Pole during a targeted operation in Bradford aimed at reducing serious violent crime. The operation resulted in the discovery of a hidden cache of nine bladed weapons, alongside arrests and additional weapon seizures, demonstrating how advanced detection technology can support proactive policing and safer communities.
Beyond threat detection, Todd Research systems can also help police forces uncover the smuggling of illegal goods, including weapons and narcotics, while providing clear visual evidence that can support investigations and court proceedings. By enabling the rapid identification of threats and contraband, our technology plays an important role in supporting counterterrorism efforts, border security operations, and the fight against organised crime.
