As part of their commitment to safety and compliance, Richard James International Ltd identified the need to improve their ability to detect lithium batteries within parcels and freight. With the increasing volume of battery-powered devices being transported worldwide, accurately identifying lithium batteries is essential to ensure shipments are handled in accordance with transport regulations and to minimise the risk of fire during storage and transit.
Following a consultation, and a visit to the Todd Research factory in Cambridgeshire for a product demonstration, Richard James International Ltd selected the Todd Research XRC 100-100DV, a large dual view conveyor X-ray scanner designed to inspect oversized parcels and freight while producing high-quality X-ray images for operators.
Following the installation and an initial period of use, Todd Research carried out a post-installation follow-up to ensure the XRC 100-100DV was performing to Richard James International Ltd’s expectations. As part of this review, our team worked closely with the customer to understand their experience using the system in day-to-day operations. To further optimise performance for their specific application, one of our engineers attended site and adjusted the AI detection settings. These refinements ensured the system was operating at its best for Richard James International Ltd’s requirements, demonstrating Todd Research’s commitment to ongoing customer support and continuous optimisation.
